Building a custom yacht is a long-term project and a major investment.
It is an enduring undertaking that requires ample time and resources. In order to have a successful custom-build project, it is essential to have the best available team on board as they are each instrumental in the process. From liaising with you and the builder to keeping up with all the latest news and issues, as build broker, we will be your single point contact, supervising the build to completion. We will act as your advocate throughout. We will serve as an invaluable liaison between yourself and the shipyard together with the appointed yacht manager, providing oversight and scrutiny at every project stage to ensure that the yacht delivered adheres not only to contractual specifications but to your expectations.

New Yacht Construction Process
Pre-build research
Yacht construction is a long-term project and a major investment where selection of the right team for your build is essential. Acting as your deal broker, we are fully appraised of the current opportunities at every shipyard and will provide the best match yard for your project. After fully exploring your requirement, we will provide trusted guidance on design parameters, classes, sizes and construction materials and processes. We will also present budgets, the financial options as well as legal implications of a new build.
Shipyard and Designer Selection
Once we have a specification prepared, we will liaise with a number of suitable shipyards, designers and naval architects for the project. Those who express interest will be invited to tender a bid - this is often a joint venture between shipyard, designer and naval architect.
Thanks to our knowledge, experience and working relationships we’ll be able to identify the most suitable solution with an independent perspective and following contract award, we’ll be there by your side throughout to guide you and negotiate on your behalf.
Contracts
Working with our core team and specialist legal partner advisors we will conduct any negotiations required with the selected yard to assure you receive the best value as well as a timely build schedule. Everything from the final detailed specifications, regulations, warranties, payment and contractual obligations.
Construction and Management
After the contracts are signed, the build process will begin. We will liaise with the yacht manager and the shipyard, overseeing the entire new build from start to finish. We will work closely with your captain and surveyor, always keeping your best interests top priority throughout the build.
Delivery
Once the build is complete we’ll check that all contractual obligations have been met. The final stage of the build process is testing and holding sea trials to ensure the yacht is ready for use. Together with the yacht manager, we will facilitate all tests and trials to ensure the vessel is finished and functioning to your complete satisfaction. After delivery, we’ll liaise with the shipyard on any warranty issues and be there to accompany you on your maiden voyage.
